MORNING DEW: The love behind the scene

MORNING DEW: 31-10-2018

TOPIC: THE LOVE BEHIND THE SCENE

TEXT: GENESIS 37:12-17

“Sometime later, his brothers left to tend their fathers flock in Shechem. And Israel instructed Joseph, Your brothers are tending the flock in Shechem. Come here, because I’m going to send you to them. Here I am! He responded. Go and see how things are with your brothers, Israel ordered him. And see how things are with the flock. Bring back a report for me. Then he sent Joseph from the valley of Hebron. When Joseph reached Shechem, a man found him wandering around in a field. So the man asked him, What are you looking for? I’m searching for my brothers, he responded. Tell me, where are they tending the flock? They’ve already left, the man answered. I heard them saying that they were headed to Dothan. So Joseph followed his brothers to Dothan and found them there.”

(MY NEW SERIES WILL COME YOUR WAY ON THE 1ST OF NOVEMBER, 2018, DUBBED: DAVID, THE MAN AFTER GOD’S HEART. DON’T MISS THIS SERIES!)

PURE LOVE

Joseph love for his brothers was unconditional. But his brothers were not seeing it. As far as he was concerned they were his blood.

HOW TO PROVE YOUR LOVE FOR SOMEONE

Love can be expressed in so many ways. These are some of the ways:

  1. Saving the person’s soul from entering hell like what Jesus did on the Cross.
  2. Feeding the person.
  3. Interceding for the person.
  4. Helping the person in times of need.
RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: The day of the Lord (THE RAPTURE)

This is exactly what Joseph tried to do to his brothers. He was ready to do anything to please them. He proved that he indeed loved his brothers. When his father sent him he didn’t hesitate. He was going to them with clean heart.

Joseph had nothing to hide.

As a believer let love become the ultimate. Love people unconditionally! You may love people who are not seeing it. That is painful. The very people you love and want to help are the very people who will be chasing you day and night to eliminate you. Do you have to stop loving them?

Love people as if you don’t know what is happening. Love people with your heart not your lips. Save souls out of love. Joseph brothers hated him and he returned love instead of hatred. If our churches were filled with Joseph’s types, souls would have been saved.

Joseph wandered in the forest looking for his brothers, people who hated him, yet he never complained. We complain in the church for little things. With all the hatred of Joseph’s brothers he never thought of leaving the family. We get upset for little things. We end up by leaving the church.

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: Be rooted in the Word

“Take your church.” is some members slogan. You leave your family because of displeasure. There Is no family without problems. There is no perfect family. The fact that human beings constitute that family there will be quarrels. But leaving the family would not be the solution, rather, solving the problem together would be the best choice to take as a family.

If you leave that church (family) you will definitely go to another church, similar behaviours will crop up since they are human beings in that church. How many churches will you then attend before Jesus’ appearance?

Most people’s enemies are outside their habitations but Joseph brothers were his enemies who stayed with him. How do you cope with such situations?

Our arch enemy is the devil who seeks our lives (1 Peter 5:8).  Stop chasing people as your enemies. Joseph acquired some qualities that helped him stayed peacefully with them. Let’s consider these qualities.

  1. Humility
  2. Love
  3. Kind
  4. Forgiveness
  5. A man of peace
  6. Unifier

These qualities helped Joseph lived peacefully with his brothers who hated him. Do you possess these qualities?

Pray for them now!

Prayer: No matter the opposition, Lord, give me a heart to love, in Jesus’ Name!

Amen!
