MORNING DEW: Lack of knowledge make my people perish

MORNING DEW: 30-10-2018

TOPIC: LACK OF KNOWLEDGE MAKE MY PEOPLE PERISH

TEXT: HOSEA 4:1-12

  1. Hear this message from the LORD, people of Israel. Indeed, the LORD brings a charge against the people who live in the land for there is no truth and no gracious love or knowledge of God in the land.
  2. Swearing, lying, murder, theft, and adultery are rampant, and blood mingles with blood.
  3. Therefore the land will mourn, and all who live there will languish, along with the wild animals of the field and the birds of the air. Even the fish in the sea will disappear.
  4. Let no one fight or bring charges against another, for my dispute is with you, priest.
  5. So you will stumble during the day, the prophet also will stumble with you at night, and I will destroy your mother.
  6. My people are destroyed because they lack knowledge of me. Because you rejected that knowledge, I will reject you as a priest for me. Since you forget the Law of your God, I will also forget your children.
  7. The more they increased in number, the more they sinned against me, so I will change their glory into shame.
  8. They feed on the sin of my people; they purpose in their heart to transgress.
  9. So it will be: like people, like priest. I will punish them for their lifestyles, rewarding them according to their behavior.
  10. They will eat, but will not be satisfied. They will engage in prostitution, but they won’t increase, because they have stopped listening to the LORD.
  11. Sexual immorality, wine, and fresh wine seduce the heart of my people.
  12. My people seek counsel from their piece of wood, and their diviners rod speaks to them. For a spirit of prostitution causes them to go astray; in their immorality they desert their God.

GOD HATES SIN

God will always hate sin whether there is grace or not. Grace has worked since, in the Old Testament and then the New Testament, which will end after Jesus’ Second Coming.

When I read the above passage I became sober, considering what is happening in our days, the twenty first century, it is very disturbing. God was ready to strike His own people because they refused to hear Him.

The more people increase in the land the more sin abounds. Christians are the light of the world but because we lack knowledge we have become darkness to the world. The so called prophets who have been sent from hell are leading the very elect astray, which, out of ignorance, are running to them.

LACK OF KNOWLEDGE MAKE MY PEOPLE PERISH

Lack of knowledge many Christians will enter the Lake of Fire. Because they fight one another, they are bitter, angry for one another. Christians no longer live for each other, because they see themselves as enemies. It is very pathetic. God warned Israel in the text against these things.

Bottled water and oil, stickers, salt, handkerchiefs, etc., have fame more than Jesus Christ today. Mention Jesus name and mention oil, water, etc., you will see people trooping to the mediums leaving the Messiah. It is lack of knowledge. It is lack of knowledge that makes people worship the creation instead of the Creator.

People are now worshiping mediums such as oil, water, papers, wood, stones, trees, people, instead of the Messiah. Our youth are involved in so many negative vices in the society. Gay activities are negative activities our generation don’t feel shy of. The more the population increases the more we experience wickedness.

The Psalmist says:

“I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the prince’s.” (Psalm 82:6-7).

We will die like one of the princes means we have lost our identities as people. Gods are spirits and don’t die, however, we will die because we have lost our identities, and it’s because we lack knowledge.

“…I will punish them for their lifestyles, rewarding them according to their behavior” (Verse 9). So don’t think that what you are doing now will go unpunished. Every deed will be rewarded. Lack of knowledge will always send some people astray.

Prayer: Help me Lord, to know your ways, in Jesus’ Name!

Amen!
