Morning Dew Devotion: Defend Christians Wherever You Are

MORNING DEW

DATE: WEDNESDAY 11TH AUGUST, 2021

THEME: DEFEND CHRISTIANS WHEREVER YOU ARE

TEXT: ESTHER 8:3-9

3 Then Esther spoke to the king again and fell at his feet. She wept and pleaded with him for mercy to overturn the evil plan devised by Haman the Agagite and his plot against the Jewish people.

4 The king extended the golden scepter to Esther, and she got up and stood before the king.

5 She said, If it pleases the king, and if I’ve found favor with him, and if the matter is proper in the King’s opinion, and if I’m pleasing to the king, let an order be issued revoking the letters devised by Hammedatha the Agagites son Haman, which ordered the destruction of the Jewish people throughout the kings provinces.

6 Indeed, how can I bear to see this disaster happen to my people? How can I bear to see the destruction of my kinsmen??

7 King Ahasuerus told Queen Esther and Mordecai the Jew, Look, I’ve given Hamans property to Esther, and they have hanged him on the pole because he tried to harm the Jewish people.

_8 Now, in the name of the king, you write what seems good to you concerning the Jewish people, and seal it with the kings signet ring, for a document written in the kings name and sealed with the kings signet ring cannot be revoked._

9  The kings scribes were summoned at that time, on the twenty-third day of the third month, which is the month Sivan, and everything that Mordecai commanded the Jewish people, the regional authorities, the governors, and the provincial officials of the 127 provinces from India to Cush was written down for each province according to its script, for each people according to their language, and for the Jewish people according to their script and language._

QUEEN ESTHER INTERVENED ON BEHALF OF THE JEWS

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: David, the man after God's own heart (Part 5)

Queen Esther told the king to reverse the judgment already on the public domain. Mordecai was promoted hence he could visit the king anytime.

The laws of Media and Persia were irrevocable. There was nothing the king could do to reverse what was sent out. The only remedy was counter attack.

God was using the pagan king to save His people through queen Esther.

The fasting and prayer offered by the Jews stirred up the atmosphere and unprecedented miracles were flowing in the land. The impact of fasting and prayer is great.

It is not you denying yourself of food and water is what touches God, but it is the humility being exhibited by the flesh that touches God.

And when the flesh is being denied of food and water it becomes weak and humbles itself before God and man, and the spirit becomes strong and connects to the Holy Spirit through prayer and study of God’s Word.

There was special grace on queen Esther. Read what the king told her:

“Now, in the name of the king, you write what seems good to you concerning the Jewish people… (verse 8).

The king said do what you wish.

The intelligent Mordecai then took over with the help of the king’s scribes to do the writing in the name of the king.
Only trusted people that can be entrusted.

Most Christians are not trustworthy. Their YES is NO. Esther was a trustworthy queen. Mordecai was also a trusted fellow. Can you be trusted Christian? How is the level of your trust?

The kingdom was given to Esther and Mordecai. They could do whatever they wanted. God told Joshua, wherever the sole of his foot shall tread upon will be given to him (Joshua 1:3).

A Christian presence at a place is more than ten thousand foot soldiers of a nation. Spiritually you are a giant with thousands escorts.

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: THE GOOD SAMARITAN (PART TWO)

Your mere presence will scare the dark kingdom powers. People see your glory and strength and get scared. So you are to intervene for the brethren when you have the opportunity.

A Christian statement into the dark kingdom can cause more harm than ten missiles thrown into a nation. You don’t know what you are carrying.

Jesus sent His disciples to evangelize. They came back with joy due to the miracles they performed. And read what Jesus told them:

“He told them, I watched Satan falling from heaven like lightning. Look! I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to destroy all the enemy’s power, and nothing will ever hurt you.” (Luke 10:18-19).

Their mere presence Satan had to fall from the second heavens to the earth. Beloved, don’t underrate what is inside you. John made it clear to the brethren in 1 John 4:4 that;

“Little children, you belong to God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Use what you have to save the brethren and the unsaved.

Esther did not underrate what she carried as a woman under the Old Covenant and used same to deliver her people. Will you as a New Covenant child underrate what you carry and leave people perish? You are in that department to fight for the cause of Christians, do exactly that.

MEMORY VERSE

“Then Esther spoke to the king again and fell at his feet. She wept and pleaded with him for mercy to overturn the evil plan devised by Haman the Agagite and his plot against the Jewish people.” (Esther 8:3).

PRAYER

I carry fire wherever I go, let not this fire ever quench Lord, that I would use it to save people, in Jesus’ Name!
Amen!
