MORNING DEW: Be rooted in the Word

MORNING DEW: 08-10-2018

THEME: Be rooted in the Word

TEXT: JOSHUA 1:8

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

THE WORD OF GOD

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

so that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good action.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

“All Scripture is God-breathed.” not some scripture. God’s breath means God’s life. The life He breathed into Adam and he became a living soul” (Genesis 2:7).

God gave man His Spirit (life). The same Spirit is the Bible (God-breathed).

Which means that the Bible is God’s Spirit which is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God (children of God) may be complete (perfect) thoroughly equipped for every good action.

THIS BOOK OF THE LAW SHALL NOT DEPART OUT OF YOUR MOUTH

When Moses was ending his ministry, he instructed Joshua to be steadfast in the Lord, and more importantly, to abide by the Word. He told him; “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

That was all that Joshua needed to do, meditating on the Word of God day and night, which also means allowing your mind to be occupied by God, just God and nothing else, because your mind is a field where anything can occupy it, including Satan.

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: Put your trust in the Lord

Satan, even though cannot possess your body (because your body is the temple of God) he can occupy your mind with evil thoughts and you end up by sinning.

Paul, in his letter to the Romans, admonished them to renew their minds.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but continuously be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God’s will is—what is proper, pleasing, and perfect.” (Romans 12:2).

However, when you are saved, that is not all, you need to work to remain in Him. When you are able to meditate on the Word day and night, meaning God is in charge of your totality, which will result to good success and prosperity. Meaning success comes as the result of meditating on God’s Word day and night.

GOD’S WORD AND THE 21ST CENTURY CHRISTIAN

Today, importance does not attach to God’s Word. Many Christians have no Bibles and they swindle their hands to church. The same people have very expensive mobile phones, the same people buy expensive clothes, shoes, rings, watches, etc, and they can’t use half of that amount to get a good Bible. Don’t forget, the Bible is God’s Spirit.

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: : RUTH, THE SAVIOUR

We prefer using mobile phones to read our Bibles to reading it from the manuel. You should know that mobile phone is mobile phone and Bible is Bible. The Word is God’s Spirit, however, it must take the Word (Spirit) to feed your spiritual man. How many times do you feed your physical man a day? Three or more?

But how many times do you feed your spiritual man with the Word a day? Nil!

You don’t have time for God’s Word but you have time for other things.

Beloved, attach importance to God’s Word in order to succeed.

Be rooted in the Word!

Prayer: Henceforth, I’ll attach importance to your Word Lord, I’ll meditate on it day and night, in Jesus’ Name!

Amen!
