Vanguards of Christ Devotionals (23rd Nov, 2016)

TOPIC: SPEAK POSITIVE.

MEMORY VERSES:
Job 22:28, Proverbs 18:21
“Thou shalt decree a thing and it shall come to pass…”, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”.

What do you constantly say about yourself, your life or even others? Positive? Or negative things?
From the creation story, we see that everything that came into being was as a result of God’s pronouncement, ‘Let there be…’ Although the Spirit of God was present and moving over the waters, nothing happened to the formless earth until God spoke.

Amazingly, God created us in His own image, according to His own likeness, which means we’re just like Him, and can also speak into situations and bring light into them like He did. We can also pronounce order like He did and it shall be. The Holy Spirit dwells in us, and so all that is left is for us to speak, with faith.
Words really have power, if not we wouldn’t be told in the power of the tongue lies life and death, we wouldn’t be asked to confess that Jesus is Lord unto salvation, and Jesus wouldn’t have asked us to speak to mountains for them to be removed by faith.

RECOMMENDED:  Assemblies of God, Ghana, Sunday School (Lesson 19)

Drop the negative talk and start speaking positive. Choose between life and death now. If you speak life, you’ll receive life and vice versa. Stop saying ‘I’m unable’, ‘I’m unlucky’, and say ‘I’m able’, ‘I’m blessed’ with faith. Speak blessings into your life and watch your life form beautifully like the world did. Let the weak say, “I am strong!”.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, we decree that our lives will be to Your plans and purpose.

INSIGHT: When we decree a thing with faith, it comes to pass.
