TOPIC: WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD?
TEXT: ROMANS 8:35-39
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall Tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Let’s take one day off on the lessons of “David, The Man After God’s Own Heart” and look at something different, the love of God.
THE LOVE OF GOD
Who can separate us from the love of God?
The love of God for mankind was so real that He didn’t spare His own Son. His own love for mankind was not for personal gains. It was unconditional. And it was nature based, it is His nature to love.
Jesus also did not relent after seeing what He was to go through. He still faced the torture, the anguish, the nakedness, the distress, the persecution, the shame, for the sake of the love He has for mankind.
WHO SHALL SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD?
We have accepted the Love to be our Saviour. Hence, can anything separate us from this Love? The answer should be NO! Right? It is rather unfortunate to see people leaving the church simply because they are insulted by a member, or they are not being helped in the church, or their husbands or fathers are giving them tough times anytime they go to church.
Some people are being separated from the love of God simply because the pastor didn’t visit them when they were sick. Some claim that God has not attended to their request they presented to Him, hence they have no business with Him. People would give any excuse for leaving the church.
Are these things mentioned above enough to separate you from God’s love? Certainly not! If you are beaten unto the point of death, or not being visited, or rejected, or being insulted, or being humiliated, they did it to Christ more than what you are going through. Is it hunger? Jesus Christ is more than all these.
“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Keep His love burning inside of you.
Prayer: I don’t want to be found outside the gate, therefore help me dear Holy Spirit,
Amen!
