THEME: TEMPLE PROSTITUTES
TEXT: JOB 36:13-15
“The godless at heart cherish anger; they won’t cry out for help when God afflicts them. They die in their youth; and their life will end among temple prostitutes. He’ll deliver the afflicted through their afflictions and open their ears when they are oppressed.”
THE GODLESS
“The godless at heart cherish anger; they won’t cry out for help when God afflicts them.” (Job 36:13).
The godless at heart cherish anger. Anger is their diet. They roar like lions.
It is dangerous to be godless as a believer.
Being godless means not acknowledging any deity or god; without belief in any deity or god.
It also means evil, wicked, worldly person.
Such people would never have God’s support when they need it. God will never waste His time on such people. They would perish forever in the Lake of Fire.
Beloved, are you a victim? If yes then repent.
TEMPLE PROSTITUTES
“They die in their youth; and their life will end among temple prostitutes.” (Job 36:14).
This is God’s discipline to the godless or wicked people. They die in their youth; and their life will end among temple prostitutes.
WHO ARE TEMPLE PROSTITUTES?
The King James Version uses the word “unclean” instead of “temple prostitutes” but it’s the same word. The unclean used by King James Version, the Hebrew word is “qâdêsh” which means male temple prostitute, a (quasi – resembling or having a likeness to something) sacred person, that is, (technically) a (male) devotee (by prostitution) to licentious idolatry: – sodomite, unclean.
Elihu likened the wicked ones to temple prostitutes, those who devote their entire lives to sodomite. Such people will never live old to tell their stories.
Temple prostitutes deny the instructions of the sovereign God. They do things their own ways.
Don’t we have such people in the church today? Yes we have them.
1. We have people in the church who are devoted to stealing.
Such ones hear the pastor preach against stealing, they even read the Bible which is obvious on stealing, yet they steal. They steal member’s purses, phones, offering monies, etc. Such people, according to the Bible, will die in their youthful age.
2. We have people in the church who are devoted to fornication and adultery.
They have taken fornication as normal. They hear pastor preach against it yet they fornicate. They read it in the Bible yet they fornicate. They will tell you that was then as if the Bible has changed. Some people have wives yet they commit adultery. They will tell you “how can you be eating the same soup every day?” All those people will die young according to the Bible unless they repent.
3. We have professional drunkards in the church and their work is to drink after or before church services.
They are not ready to take any advice. They have devoted their lives to doing that. The Bible says “they’ll perish by the sword and die in their ignorance.”
4. What of those who fight in the church.
They fight everybody, including pastor in the church. They fight in their place of abode. They fight in their work places. Such ones disgrace the body of Christ and they will pay dearly for it according to the Bible.
5. Some Christians are devoted to worshiping idols which is against God’s word.
Instead of the Creator they worship the creature. They go to church yet they have amulets, charms, and the like on their bodies. They have shrines in their bed rooms. Some give monies out to buy the necessary things for sacrifice, and they claim they are clean.
Read what the Bible says;
“Stop becoming unevenly yoked with unbelievers. What partnership can righteousness have with lawlessness? What fellowship can light have with darkness?
What harmony exists between the Messiah and Beliar, or what do a believer and an unbeliever have in common?
What agreement can a temple of God make with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said: “I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” (2 Corinthians 6:14-16).
These and other things people are devoted to doing. According to the Bible, God doesn’t allow the wicked to live. The doers of the above acts are all temple prostitutes.
Beloved, you may be a Christian yet you are a temple prostitute, you need to repent. Maybe you are not a Christian, this is the hour for you.
“Indeed God is mighty and he doesn’t show disrespect; he is mighty and strong of heart.
He doesn’t let the wicked live; he grants justice to the afflicted.
He won’t stop looking at righteous people; he seats them on thrones with kings forever, and they are exalted.”(Job 36:5-7).
The hour is now for unrepentant Christians and unbelievers. Don’t procrastinate.
Don’t try to be a temple prostitute.
MEMORY VERSE
“He doesn’t let the wicked live; he grants justice to the afflicted.” (Job 36:6).
Prayer: Father, I have come with my sins, asking for forgiveness, forgive me Lord, from all my iniquities, in Jesus’ Name!
