MORNING DEW: 20-11-2018
TOPIC: DAVID, THE MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART
TEXT: 1 SAMUEL 18:12-16
“Now Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with him and had departed from Saul. Saul removed David from his presence and made him an officer over a division of soldiers. So David led the troops in battle. David was successful in all that he did, for the LORD was with him. When Saul saw that David was highly successful, he feared him. But all Israel and Judah loved David because he led them in battle.
KING SAUL WAS AFRAID OF DAVD
“Now Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with him and had departed from Saul.” (1 Samuel 18:12).
When you are carrying God’s grace, you are carrying His presence, meaning you are untouchable.
The “Grace of God” on you means where others cannot go you can go, where people complain and say it is difficult you say it is easy, where people go and fail you go to the same place and pass easily, where people enter and shout it is hot you enter the same place and say it is cool, where people sow and get nothing but you sow and get enough food, where people dig and get nothing but you dig and have water, where someone cannot control his/herself when with an opposite sex but you are able to control yourself with the same sex, where someone does something and die instantly and you do the same thing and live.
David was under this grace, so there was no way any human being could harm him. King Saul, after realizing God’s grace on David, feared him. He was very careful about him because when you are misbehaving with a man of grace, you are joking with your life span. A man of grace is a man of power. A man of grace is a man of God’s heart.
DAVID BECAME A LEADER OF A TROOP
“Saul removed David from his presence and made him an officer over a division of soldiers. So David led the troops in battle.” (1 Samuel 18:13).
David became a leader of a troop, that is thousand. He became a leader of thousand soldiers which he controlled and gave commands.
When you are able to distinguish yourself you get bigger tasks, that is promotion. Don’t forget, promotion comes from the LORD.
As Christians we should be diligent in our dealings, working with love and passion. We should avoid giving or receiving bribes. It is rather unfortunate seeing people who suppose to be Christ-like involve themselves in these devilish acts. We are not just living on this earth but we represent God (ambassadors of God).
DAVID BECAME SUCCESSFUL
The man after God’s own heart became very successful.
There was no way David could fail, how can someone carrying God’s grace fail, never! We are more than conquerors.
God is watching us, hence we should behave like chtist.
David became a favourite of the people. They loved him and loved to be where he was.
Let’s work to please our Master.
…to be continued…
Prayer: Thank you Lord for helping me to remain in your love, in Jesus’ Name,
Amen!
