IDENTITY CRISIS 6

WORD24/7 INSPIRATIONS FROM JOEL ASIAW

IDENTITY CRISIS 6

Before we look at our next analogy,Let’s demystify about the real you.
When the bible talks to us,it always addresses the spirit man.If it says we are been made holy,it’s addressing the new man in you who is the real you.

It’s paramount and noteworthy to know that man is a spirit. Failure of one acknowledging this truth will further jeopardize his or her dentity in Christ.
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Ephesians 1:4

We existed before the world was made not in flesh but in spirit. This explains the reason why the bible’s definition about us contradicts who we personally think we are.

When God said, “let us make man in our image”, He was not talking about the flesh but the Spirit of God himself in us.
1Corinthians 6:17,But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

John 4:24 says God is a Spirit and been made in His image definitely means we are spirit beings as well.

Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.Ecclesiastes 12:7

Man is a spirit and possesses a soul and lives in a body.
Genesis 1:26 says that God created man in His image and likeness. When God did that,He created us Spiritual beings. He made “houses”_bodies and put us in them but we are not the houses. We are spiritual beings living in a physical house.
In the natural, we may live in houses or apartments made out of wood or glass and concrete, but we are not wood or house or concrete.

How many people will get mad at somebody because of the nature of their house? No,most of us would not do that because we know that a person’s house is not the person. No matter how unattractive a house may look like, the person living inside may be very beautiful or handsome.
Should we care about how a house looks like?No we should care about who lives inside that house.

Spiritual beings cannot function without bodies on this visible habitat of ours.Jesus came in the flesh to confirm this in John 1:1-16 and in Luke 8:27-33 the evil spirits beged Jesus to allow them enter into the swine because they had knowledge about spirit beings not been able to function fully on this earth.
This explains why God made a house for us.
Apostle Paul beautifully puts it this way in 1 Corinthians 5:1.
For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

John the Apostle also puts it this way because he knew we were spirit beings.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.John 3:9

The spirit man who is the real you never sins.He works in us with our response to bring out holiness.Philippians 2:12-13

For this reason, the bible admonishes us to present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] our reasonable service not to allow our bodies to rule over the real you.
But I keep under my body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.1 Corinthians 9:27

Now let’s look at the next analogy.
