VANGUARDS OF CHRIST DEVOTIONALS (4th August,’16)

TODAY’S DEVOTION
? 4th August,’16

TOPIC: AIM TO PLEASE.

MEMORY VERSE:
Genesis 6:6.
The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.

This verse shows how much human beings are like God- we, like Him, have things which make us displeased. He was grieved in Noah’s day because the people He had created to love and fellowship with, to intimately relate with and to exercise His dominion and will on the earth, were continually choosing to do evil.

From this, we know what grieves the Lord God. As a child of God, ask yourself: Do I make God smile or I make Him troubled? God expects our full attention and devotion. He wants to know that we are intentional about living for Him.

Let’s take time and sincerely answer this question today: What is it that the Lord God keeps drawing your attention to? Don’t leave it to chance: take steps to be strong in that area. Become intentional about pleasing the Father. Just like He did to Noah, He will find you favoured in His sight.

RECOMMENDED:  MORNING DEW: Lotto is an act of covetousness, avoid it (Part 1)

PRAYER: Let my ways be pleasing to You, in Jesus’ name.

INSIGHT: Making a conscious effort to please God is not a sign of carnality but a proof of your love and reverence for God.
