Afro gospel musician, Bernard Stephen Adu Poku popularly known as Minister BiBi is set to make this year’s yuletide a memorable one with the launch of his spirit filled single track titled ‘He Reigns’ come Sunday, 25th December, 2016 at the ICGC Shiloh Temple in Obuasi.
In an exclusive interview with Obuasitoday.com in his recording studio, the song writer cum ICGC, Shiloh temple music director opened up on how he has come to master the music keys.
“My mum used to sing to me during my early stages, so I grew up to love music and later discovered my music calling 16 years ago. I am also a Pianist.
During my younger days, you will always come to meet me behind the musical instruments in the church”, he said.
His current single, ‘He Reigns’ which is going to commission this year’s Christmas festivities, comes in a Ugandan local dialect mixed with English.
“He Reigns in Ugandan dialect is ‘Afuga’ and with the help of a Ugandan friend, we translated it to English and later did part of it in the Ugandan local dialect”, Minister BiBi said.
He went on to explain how he could master other languages so easily;
“I think I have been gifted with that one too, I find it difficult speaking a particular language but when I’m to put it into music, it flows easily and I believe it’s by grace.”
The Afro gospel sensational, takes inspiration from Sonnie Badu, Nii Okai, late Danny Nettey and Donnie McClurkin.
Minister Bernard Stephen Adu Poku holds a BSc in Music from University of Education, Winneba.
Minister BiBi released his maiden Album titled ‘African Praise Medley’ 2 years ago which did very well in Ghana and other African countries. He plans to release a single track every quarter in a year.
He’s happily married to Mrs Jeanette Adu-Poku and they are blessed with three boys.
