Award-winning Ghanaian gospel artiste, Cwesi Oteng, has just released the official artwork of his highly anticipated upcoming album. The artwork confirms the album title as ‘Anthems’ ending all speculation.
‘Anthems’, according to the artiste is the first instalment of a series of live music projects in the offing which he believes has a global sound and essence of congregational worship and praise music greats like Hillsong, Bethel Music and Jesus Culture have contributed to the world. However, ‘Anthems’ has a unique cross-sound that should find its way on the list of praise and worship ministers, choirs and congregational and devotional sets.
“I have never done a project where I felt so not in control like this Anthems project. Everyone on the team knew that a higher hand was controlling and directing everything from our strategy and song writing sessions to rehearsals and the live audio and video taping. The songs we recorded will extend far beyond the beautiful shores of Ghana. I call it Africa’s statement of global congregational music. I see many nations and tribes singing these songs in large gatherings,” Cwesi revealed.
The album was live recorded at the First Love Center, Legon, in Accra and mainly features Cwesi’s music team, Flo’Riva Inc. The first single off the album, ‘Next in Line’, drops by mid-November after which the full album will be released.
