The world’s most anticipated rematch bout between Heavyweight giants, Wilder and Fury, was scheduled on 22nd February, 2020. Many had cloned the event to be part of their itinerary as millions would forfeit their sleep to witness this adversarial bout between the duo.
In the build to the match, Wilder made certain utterances which were deemed as both “blasphemy” and “mockery” in the Christian line. He tweeted, “In the first match, I told you I will baptize you and in the rematch not even God can save you”.
Irrespective of how Wilder had prepared to win the bout, it was a dangerous path to tread to demean God in such a small battle and defying His Omnipotence.
The words recalled how builders of Titanic mocked God in similar manner but ended in an atrocity well recognized till today.
Tyson Fury knocked the boaster Wilder in the 7th round to claim victory in the history making bout.
After the match, Tyson Fury’s first words were “Appreciating his Lord Jesus and his confidence of those who are in the dark cannot see the light of the day”
This obviously was to jab at his woefully disgraced defeated opponent.
