There is a terrific punishment of a “ban” for all culprits of same-sex marriage and gay and lesbian clergy in Methodist. Methodist, which was founded by John Wesley, had “holiness” as her fundamental virtue and had zero-tolerance to all ignoble acts which affect the church.
In a period where the global church faces immoral threat of Lesbianism, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender and same-sex marriage, the United Methodist has been hit by this storm. It had already been agreed with the punishment which lurked for clergies who were accomplices.
A segregated group of leaders are at variance with this decision against same-sex marriage and claimed to officially split the church, citing “fundamental differences” over the matter. The Methodist church has over 13 million members globally and the plan will split its members in the United States.
