THIS IS OUR DUTY

    THIS IS OUR DUTY
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ..
    2 Corinthians 5:20

    Who is an ambassador?
According to merriam websters dictionary,an ambassador is the highest-ranking person who represents his or her own government while living in another country or a foreign land.

As 1 Peter 2:11 brings to light that we are foreigners and aliens on a pilgrim.Hence, we must posses this mindset as believers to aid as to carry on the very purpose we were saved for.
We are not saved just to dress nice, goto church and wait for heaven.

As representatives of God’s kingdom here on earth, we find ourselves involved in an all out war with a highly organized opposing kingdom ruled by Satan.
This is a kingdom of evil spirit beings(persons without bodies) whose headquarters are in the heavenly realms.
The battleground on which this war is been fought is the minds of humanity. Satan has built up strongholds of prejudice and unbelief in the minds of the members of the human race to keep them from receiving the glorious gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:4

Our God given task or duty is to breakdown these mental strongholds, thus releasing men and women from Satan’s deception and then bring them into submission and obedience to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

According to the book of Matthew, the first words that came from Jesus’ mouth were as follows,
And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:..Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world.
    Matthew 28:27-20

These words might have been very important to Jesus.
Logically,He should have told them the incident that took place when He died and went to the enemy’s territory but he deemed this very important.

Someone may say,”I am shy,I can’t do it”.But Jesus reassured us of His presence in verse 20 to make sure this task would be fruitful. It’s not by our might but His.
One mystery behind this duty is every believer who is not interested in winning souls has not fully won their defensive armor in Eph 6:15 and prone to any fiery darts of the enemy.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;…

This is quite revealing and noteworthy that preaching the gospel is also for our benefit in this foreign land.

See you on the preaching field.
    PRAYER
Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people). And [pray] also for me, that [freedom of] utterance may be given me, that I may open my mouth to proclaim boldly the mystery of the good news (the Gospel),or which I am an ambassador in a coupling chain [in prison. Pray] that I may declare it boldly and courageously, as I ought to do.
    Ephesians 6:18-20
