International evangelist, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh is in Obuasi for a mega crusade themed, “Oh Lord, heal, restore and Prosper our land”.
The two days program which has been made possible by OFM and supported by Churches in Obuasi, has come less than two days after Anglogold Ashanti decides to shut down its Obuasi mine completely.
Speaking to the press at Cofkans Hotel, the Economist turned evangelist, said Obuasi needed God most at this time.
“If the politicians knew how to make things work well for Obuasi, they would have done it. I am an Economist and I always say this, Economists does not have the solution to man’s problems, God does”, he said.
“I am here because I believe Obuasi needs a breakthrough and that breakthrough is Christ,” he added.
Dr. Lawrence Tetteh has visited 118 countries across the world and met several high profile personalities and he believes the progress of Obuasi should not lie only on the survival of the Mine.
“We would be naive if we depend on the mine and pray for its resurgence only. Lets think of how everyone can succeed. Its not about any party, it’s about the children of God.”
The international evangelist advised the people of Obuasi to pray without ceasing and observe the conditions given to us by God in the Bible.
“God said that if the people who are called by His name will first of all humble themselves and then pray and also seek God’s way and turn away from their wicked ways, then He is always ready to forgive them their sins and heal their land”, he said.
The program started yesterday and will continue tonight at the Obuasi Black Park.
