Nothing appeals me to go to church, Ofori Amponsah reveals
Many have been disinterested in the affairs of the church for their own parochial reasons and one famous hi – life artist in Ghana, Ofori Amponsah, has affirmed his position in similar manner. Some years adrift, the said hi – life artist was vocal about his transition into priesthood which elicited mixed judgments from the public: some thanking God for his new life whereas others claiming he was pretending to wear a new cloth which he desired not.
Ofori Amposah, when granting an interview with Kofi Adoma on Kofi TV, admitted, “Nothing appeals him to go church”. This revelation was shocking more especially coming from a once man of God. The question many asked was, “has he fallen apostate?’.
When pushed by the interviewer, the musician said, “The current terrain and happenings in the church are so appalling and unfortunate. The occurrences in the church deter him from going to church “. He continued, “Preachers who were to unify are now dissipating; they now verbally assault themselves and throw public tantrums and have become utterly selfish to amass untold wealth unto themselves”
The artist is certainly displeased about how men of God in Ghana easily attack themselves on radio stations and social media. As conventional as it has become where pastors struggle for power in the public, the attitude is steadily quenching the flames of many followers of Christ, because they read these pastors as living epistles.
