“My biggest title is your love, Jesus”, Firmino says
Roberto Firmino, who has been integral in the Brazilian national soccer team and Liverpool’s recent success has admitted the love of Christ surpasses all titles. Indeed, Apostle Paul said the earthly prizes won wither but those reserved in heaven for us have eternal blessedness. (1 Corinthians 9:25). It is a display of maturity by Firmino to accept the heavenly calling which has life eternal.
He was being joined by his wife, a pastor and teammate Alisson Becker to be baptized after a moment of worship on 14th January, 2020. They all had an inscribed shirt, “Cross = Love “. He explained on the eve of immersion, that, “Jesus is Love, I can’t explain it…it is enough to trust, to believe in Him and experience the Holy Spirit”.
An emotional Alisson Becker hugged him in tears congratulating his brother and compatriot. Alisson had previously made public of his faith and how blessed he was to be an ardent Christian. He say, “I am a Christian, so I am not a superstitious person. I don’t feel lucky, I feel blessed and grateful for what God did in my life and my family”.
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has also spoken about how difficult and impossible mission which was set before Jesus Christ yet He fulfilled the demands of His mission. The coach has publicly stated that he is a Christ and the most important person in history is Jesus Christ.
