MORNING DEW: 15/02/2019
THEME: WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE
TEXT: RUTH 4:13-22
“So Boaz took Ruth to be his wife, and when he had marital relations with her, the LORD made her conceive, and she bore a son. Then the women of Bethlehem told Naomi, May the LORD be blessed, who has not left you today without a related redeemer. May his name become famous throughout Israel! And he will restore your life for you and will support you in your old age, because your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who has borne him, is better for you than seven sons! Naomi took care of the child, taking him to her breast and becoming his nurse. So her women neighbors gave the child a nickname, which is Naomi has a son! They named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse, who was the father of David. This is the genealogy of Perez: Perez fathered Hezron, Hezron fathered Ram, and Ram fathered Amminadab. Amminadab fathered Nahshon, and Nahshon fathered Salmon. Salmon fathered Boaz, and Boaz fathered Obed. Then Obed fathered Jesse, who fathered David.”
MOAB WAS A CURSED LAND
Moab was a cursed land. Their descendant, Moab, the son of one of Lot’s daughters, came as the result of incest (Genesis 19:37). They were uncircumcised. And they dared not come close to the people of Israel.
Not only the Moabites people but all the surrounding towns who were not circumcised.
You remember Jesus’ encounter with the Samaritan woman in John chapter 8. The woman asked Jesus why He should ask her of water when the Jews and the Samaritans have no dealings. God warned the Israelites to stay off of their women regarding marriage. Read 1 Kings 11:1-6.
Now what God warned them of was the same thing that happened between Boaz and Ruth.
The impossibility became possibility. The cursed woman became a blessed woman. The rejected Ruth became a royal. The dog became a child.
All of us were like Ruth. It was not possible to come close to God’s throne, but now we can. Who are you to condemn someone? If God does not condemn anyone no one can.
Jesus came and settled the difference. What are you waiting for my friend? Ruth had same chance, and put it into use. Is your chance been put to use? Jesus is right here. The chance you didn’t have, you have it now. Come to Jesus!
Ruth had the chance to enter into the holy blood.
The blood that produced the Messiah, Jesus Christ. She became a very important personality in Israel. You can’t count important people in Israel without mentioning Ruth’s name. Come to Jesus and your name will be among the achievers.
Your footprints would be remembered.
Your name will carry value just like Ruth.
MEMORY VERSE
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (1 Corinthians 1:27).
Prayer: I thank you Lord, for counting me among your children, I am ready to obey you now and forever, in Jesus’ Name!
Amen!
