MORNING DEW: Increase Your Speed

MORNING DEW: 13/09/2019

TEXT: 1 Peter 2:2

“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby.”

In Christianity, growth is essential, we grow from grace to grace. We grow from one spiritual level to the other. When you are at the wrong track you still pray that God should bring you back to the right track.

If a child is developing, one change in his life is very crucial as far as the growth of that child is concerned. The child is expected to grow from infancy to adulthood. If the child doesn’t walk for two to three years, it means that child has a challenge, but the growth features would be shown.

“Every Christian goes through the same stages. As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2).

We all know very well that, at crawling stage of a child, there are some foods the child cannot eat. In Christianity there are some foods a new convert Christian cannot eat. The Word of God is food for spiritual growth, hence a new convert cannot hold certain truths in the scriptures.

Which means the spiritual aspect of every Christian is vital. Don’t be comfortable when you are at one level without growing. How do you identify a growing Christian? By the fruit they bear. Therefore by their fruits you shall know them (Matthew 7:20). When I am weak spiritually at a point I know. The same thing you can experience when you are down spiritually.

When you detect this, what will be your next action? You increase your speed by reviving yourself. Fast and pray. Study the Bible. Meditate on the Word. You need not to be lunatic. You need to go an extra mile in your Christian life. You need to exploit. Don’t be comfortable with the level you find yourself now. It may lead you to a backsliding stage if care is not taken. Don’t forget that we have an enemy who roars like a lion.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). A little delay in your spiritual growth, an opportunity creates for him.

Beloved, know your movements. Know your spiritual level. Detect your weaknesses and do something about them. Don’t be carried away by the crowd. Be a unique fellow. Don’t relax, for the journey is still millions miles away which need more stamina to continue. Pray to God to strengthen you to be able to increase your speed.

Read this quote.

“Lord, when I am wrong, make me willing to change, when I am right, make me easy to live with. So strengthen me that the power of my example will far exceeds the authority of my rank” – Pauline H. Peters.

“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:2).

Help me Lord, to increase my speed daily, in Jesus’ Name!
