MORNING DEW: 27/11/2019
TEXT: PSALMS 128:1-6
1 “How blessed are all who fear the LORD as they follow in his ways.
2 You will eat from the work of your hands; you will be happy, and it will go well for you.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children like olive shoots surrounding your table.
4 See how the man will be blessed who fears the LORD.
5 May the LORD bless you from Zion, and may you observe the prosperity of Jerusalem every day that you live!
6 And may you see your children’s children! Peace be on Israel!”
DO YOU FOLLOW GOD’S WAYS?
Do you follow God’s ways? Do you know His ways? God’s ways, according to the Greek meaning of “ways” is “tropos” which is a method, style or manner of doing something.
So we are talking of God’s methods, His styles or the way He does His things. Meaning we ought to follow God’s methods, whether they make sense to us or not. Methods are a particular form of procedure for accomplishing or approaching something.
God’s procedures, no matter how they are, must be followed. To prove that we fear God we must follow all His ways.
If we need something and He says “wait”, then we have to obey. If He says “it is not yet time,” understand Him. God’s ways are not our ways so don’t expect to know or understand everything that He is doing, just obey, just follow His ways.
THERE ARE BLESSINGS
There are blessings await all those who fear God. They will be blessed including their families. God will continue to shower His blessings on those who follow His ways. Those who follow His procedures. Those who follow His methods.
Are you part of it? Do you fear God? Do you obey Him? Do you follow His methods? Do you follow
Some of us are playing double games. They satisfy the world and want to satisfy God, it can’t work that way. If you fear God you would abandon everything and follow Him. Some of us fear human beings more than God. We fear our bosses in the office more than God. We fear or wives, husbands more than God.
Fear God beloved. Don’t question God on His methods or procedures. Just obey.
Disobedience to His ways means disaster.
The blessings will turn to curses. He says, His wrath is on disobedience people. (John 3:36). And all disobedience people will end up in hell fire (Galatians 5:19-21). Most of us complain about God’s ways, saying they are difficult. Some leave the church simply because they can’t follow God’s ways. You can’t do it without Him. We try fighting it our own which is impossible.
Know His ways and obey His ways. Don’t do it alone, let Him be involved.
“How blessed are all who fear the LORD as they follow in his ways.” (Psalms 128:1).
Father, forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, I am ready to obey you now and forever, in Jesus’ Name!
